At the mouth of the river Cereixo, also called the river of Carnés, typical river animal species can be found: carnivorous mammals such as the otter, or fish such as the trout or chub.
There is a riverside walk to enjoy along the banks, running through a characteristic gallery forest containing the likes of oaks, alders, willows, laurels and holly trees.
Along the side of the mouth of the river there is a raised wooden walkway that links the centre of Cereixo and the parish church with the Tide mill. Along this stretch visitors can enjoy a walk through an area of great beauty and fragility and have the chance to increase their knowledge of the flora, fauna and history of this place thanks to the information panels
